writing workshops, CRAFT CLASSES, and LIT EVENTs, write where you belong.
About
The Line Assembly is an event planning and collaborative arts initiative that brings together local working artists and small businesses to create vibrant, in-person workshops, classes, events, and co-working hours. By partnering with local venues and like minded nonprofit organizations we can provide in-person classes and community while keeping costs, and overhead low.
This model benefits everyone: artists get access to inspiring, affordable places to work and share their craft; venues and nonprofits can earn additional revenue and visibility without disrupting normal operations; and the wider community gains access to meaningful cultural programming that otherwise wouldn’t exist.

about the organizer
Hi, I’m Mesha,
I spent the last four years in writing workshops and classes, finishing my undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing at SUNY New Paltz, and then going on to earn an MFA in fiction writing at Columbia University School of the Arts. After 20 years in event planning and restaurant management and two degrees in writing, I have decided to mesh those talents into one goal: bring in-person, affordable writing workshops and events to local communities. I founded a project that brings local artists and small businesses together to create in-person workshops, co-working spaces, and creative events in underused venues.
This project was born out of a realization: beautiful, underused space is abundant—and a painful lack of accessible, quality-led in-person writing and arts programming outside of academia. I saw the potential to bridge that gap. I have gathered incredibly talented writing professors together to offer the community truly special access to classes normally found in the best MFA programs in the country.
At its heart, this work is about reclaiming physical space for creativity and connection. In a time when isolation has become normalized, I believe we need to gather—in real life, in shared spaces—now more than ever. I am so excited to be partnering with O+. Please read more about their mission and join us all in creating a more abundant and nurtured art scene in Upstate NY.
Whether you're looking to take a class, lead one, read your work at a salon, or host a residency in your venue, I invite you to join us in building a more connected, creative, and collaborative local art and writing community.
